The mistress is on the run! Hurricane Irma is set to begin impacting the U.S. mainland tomorrow by lunchtime. I have deployed to help with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Spritual Care Responder.
As I write, I am bunked up (finally after a very long day of travel) at Camp Grace in Roberta, Georgia. This is the current staff shelter and is about 40 min from our staging HQ in Macon.
I do not have my assignment yet. Currently the plan is to stage resources and staff, let Irma roll through and then immediately respond. That means I may be in Macon, Georgia (just north of the Florida line and 70 miles south of Atlanta) tomorrow and Savannah by Sunday. It all depends on Irma and the needs that arise.
So… I am going to get some rest. It will be an even tougher day tomorrow. Keep watch and pray…..
